RSPO Training Series (15-19th Oct 2012, Sarawak, Malaysia)

Our professional training series is designed to build awareness and guide practitioners. In an effort to build capacity in the region, Wild Asia is now offering a series of foundation courses covering RSPO Principles & Criteria, the Supply Chain, HCV and FPIC. These courses are an ideal foundation for auditors, consultants, companies and corporations who are using RSPO in their policies and business practices.

Wild Asia’s Professional Training Series brings together a set of foundation courses on the RSPO. The training series is targeted at lead auditors, internal auditors, NGOs, consultants and companies in the palm oil supply chain.
Five individual training events will be organized along the following key topics:

    • RSPO Principles & Criteria,
    • RSPO Supply Chain Certification System,
    • High Conservation Value (HCV) Concept, and
    • Free, Prior, Informed, Consent (FPIC).

Course Overview

The course content has been developed around key reference documents that support the RSPO certification system. Small groups and participatory learning will be used to optimise the learning gained from the workshop. The training will be led by an expert team from Wild Asia.

The training series will run over 5-days and consists of:

  • Course Code 01 – Day 1: RSPO Principles & Criteria;
  • Course Code 02 – Day 2: RSPO Supply Chain Certification System;
  • Course Code 03 – Day 3: FPIC concept and application in RSPO;
  • Course Code 04 – Day 4 & 5: HCV concept and application in RSPO (RSPO endorsed)

Wild Asia Professional Training

Wild Asia operates as a not-for-profit and has been active in understanding and implementing RSPO on the ground. Wild Asia has built up the experience from conducting business-to-business audits, from advising large and small corporations, and running training programmes. We have also built up the experience of producers in Malaysia, Indonesia, Papua New Guinea, Solomon Islands, Thailand, Cameroon and Ghana.

Wild Asia’s trainers have built up the technical experience of a wide range of relevant standards (RSPO, FSC, ISO 14001, ISO 18001, SA8000), are skilled facilitators for promoting education and have built up a good track record within the industry. To date, Wild Asia has trained more than 800 individuals through publicly available courses as well as company-specific courses and workshops within the palm oil industry.
