Background

In 2011, Cargill Palm Products Sdn Bhd (CPP) partnered with Fauna & Flora International (FFI) and Wild Asia (WA) to undertake a Risk Assessment of Cargill’s Smallholder Palm Oil Suppliers in Malaysia as of July 2011. The initiative comprised conducting a supply chain risk mapping exercise of the key stakeholders within the supply chain, including mills, local dealers, and smallholders.

The aim of the project was to:

1. To understand the sustainability gaps in independent smallholders supply chain component,

2. To recommend solutions to support efforts to help independent smallholders adopt sustainable production practices.

The findings and results of the risk assessments are used as the basis for this project. Read here for more information about this partnership.
